Inspired by Wuthering Heights, romance novels, and windswept coastlines

Some stories don't belong in a ballroom.

They belong on windswept cliffs, beneath stormy skies, with the ocean stretching endlessly beyond the horizon.

Inspired by the wild romance of Wuthering Heights, this cinematic couples session on the Mornington Peninsula was created for those who are drawn to love stories that feel a little untamed. The kind of stories filled with longing glances, windswept hair, and a sense of adventure.

Rather than focusing on perfect poses or polished moments, this session was about creating imagery that felt emotional, atmospheric, and deeply connected; photographs that feel like scenes from a beloved novel and film.

Why the Mornington Peninsula

Was the Perfect Setting

With its rugged coastline, dramatic cliffs, and ever-changing weather, the Mornington Peninsula provided the perfect backdrop for this vision.

There is something undeniably romantic about standing on the edge of the coastline with the wind rolling in from the ocean.

The landscape feels both expansive and intimate at the same time, creating space for moments that feel quiet, reflective, and completely removed from everyday life.

For couples looking for an alternative to traditional locations, the Peninsula offers endless opportunities for photographs that feel cinematic and full of movement. The combination of natural textures, coastal views, and open landscapes creates an atmosphere that is both timeless and unforgettable.

The Styling & Inspiration

The inspiration for this session came from classic romance literature and period dramas; stories where emotion takes centre stage and every glance feels meaningful.

Flowing fabrics moved with the wind, neutral tones complemented the coastal landscape, and the focus remained firmly on connection rather than perfection.

Every element was chosen to enhance the feeling of the story rather than distract from it. The result was a gallery filled with movement, emotion, and the kind of imagery that feels both editorial and deeply personal.

Rather than creating something overly styled, the goal was to evoke a feeling: freedom, romance, nostalgia, and the sense of being completely immersed in a moment together.

Telling the Story

To fully embrace the romantic, literary inspiration behind the session, we carefully selected a collection of props that felt as though they had been gathered from the pages of a well-loved novel. Each piece was chosen not simply for its appearance, but for the story and atmosphere it helped create.

Handwritten love letters became one of the most meaningful elements of the session. Tucked between weathered pages and unfolded in the sea breeze, they evoked the feeling of cherished words exchanged between lovers separated by distance and time.

Antique mirrors added a soft, reflective quality to the imagery, and vintage lanterns brought a sense of warmth and nostalgia to the windswept cliffs.

These thoughtful details weren't simply props; they became part of the narrative, helping create a story of photographs that felt romantic, timeless, and rich with atmosphere.

Who This Style of Session Is Perfect For

If you've ever found yourself saving scenes from romance films, collecting quotes from your favourite novels, or dreaming of photographs that feel like memories rather than poses, this style of session may be exactly what you're looking for.

It's perfect for couples who:

• Love storytelling and emotion-driven photography

• Feel drawn to dramatic landscapes and natural environments

• Want photographs that feel cinematic and timeless

• Prefer genuine connection over traditional posing

• Want an experience that feels more like an adventure than a photoshoot

These sessions are designed to create space for you to simply be together while I document the moments that naturally unfold.

Creating Photographs That Feel Like a Memory

The most meaningful photographs aren't always the perfectly posed ones.

They're the moments between moments; the laughter carried away by the wind, the way your hand instinctively reaches for theirs, the quiet pauses where everything else seems to disappear.

My approach is rooted in storytelling and connection, allowing space for genuine emotion while gently guiding you when needed. The result is a gallery that feels honest, romantic, and uniquely yours.

Because years from now, I don't want you to simply remember how your photographs looked.

I want you to remember how it felt.
